vocab words!

1. intrepid - adj. resolutely courageous; fearless. I chose this picture because I used to do rockclimbing and I think you have to be fearless to freeclimb. I never actually climbed rocks but I think you would have to be really fearless to do it. I also think people can be intrepid with things other than physical things.

2. guru - n. an intellectual or spiritual guide or leader. I chose this picture because Albert Einstein was really smart, he helped us move further along in the math world and many other things. I think you can be a guru even if you 're just a regular person, like Mother Teresa was just a normal person. I think also you can be a guru on different things like someone could be a guru pertaining to technology.

3. aspire - v. to long, aim, or seek ambitiously; be eagerly desirous [to aspire to be a doctor]. I chose this picture because it shows a hand reaching out and for me it symbolizes them reaching for something. I think a lot of people when they are young aspire to be a model, doctor, singer, etc. I think we go through a lot of aspirations and if we are lucky we find the thing we really want in our mind and our heart.

4. heritage - n. something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth; an inherited lot or portion. I chose this picture because it's a picture of a family tree. This is connected to this word because when looking at your family tree you can see all of the people you are connected with and your culture and ethnicity.

5. vacillate - v. to waver in mind or opinion; be indecisive or irresolute. I chose this picture because the boy looks confused and not sure what to pick or who. I think it's not good to be indecesive but everyone is indecesive sometimes. But it's bad if you're vacillate all the time. Also if you are vacillate all the time I think people would think less of your opinions.

6. trepidation - n. tremulous fear, alarm, or agitation; perturbation.
7. despondent - adj. feeling or showing profound hopelessness, discouragement, or gloom
8. decorum - n. dignified propriety of behavior, speech, dress, etc.
9. desultory - adj. lacking in consistency, constancy, or visible order, disconnected;
10. fallacy - n. a deceptive, misleading, or false notion, belief, etc.
11. formidable - adj. causing fear, apprehension, or dread: a formidable opponent.
