1. flourish - v. - flower
- to be in a vigorous state; thrive: a period in which art flourished. This picture is showing flowers looking healthy and growing up, I think this is a very good example of the word flourish. I think flourish can be used in describing plants, animals, (living things) but I also think that it can be talking about your mind and ideas.
2. tranquility - n.- quality or state of being tranquil; calmness; peacefulness; quiet; serenity. I chose this picture because it looks like a calm place to be. I also think peace is also where even if it is hectic all around you and you are still calm or tranquil it still is tranquilty.
3. stereotype - v.-dumb blonde
- to characterize or regard as a stereotype: The actor has been stereotyped as a villain. I picked this picture as an example for stereotype because I think this is a great example. On this picture it says connect the dots! (specially designed for blondes). This is like the dumb blonde jokes, when you are blonde you are automatically stereotyped. I think everyone stereotypes or have stereotyped someone in their lifetime. I think it is part of human nature.
4. guerilla - n. a member of a band of irregular soldiers that uses guerrilla warfare, harassing the enemy by surprise raids, sabotaging communication and supply lines, etc.
5. renegade - n. a person who deserts a party or cause for another.
6. repose - n. peace; tranquillity; calm.
7. symbiosis - n. a relationship between two people in which each person is dependent upon and receives reinforcement, whether beneficial or detrimental, from the other.
8. tariff - n. an official list or table showing the duties or customs imposed by a government on imports or exports.
9. tempo - n. characteristic rate, rhythm, or pattern of work or activity: the tempo of city life.
10. tumult - n. violent and noisy commotion or disturbance of a crowd or mob; uproar: The tumult reached its height during the premier's speech.
11. tundra - n. one of the vast, nearly level, treeless plains of the arctic regions of Europe, Asia, and North America.
12. unanimous - adj. of one mind; in complete agreement; agreed.
